Publishing reaches outside BlueKona, so failures usually originate with the destination platform rather than with BlueKona itself.
Check these first
- Is the connection healthy? Publishing needs a valid token, exactly like reading does. Check Settings → Connections.
- Does the connection have publishing permission? If you connected before a publishing scope was added, your existing grant may not cover posting. Disconnect and reconnect to re-consent.
- Is your role sufficient? Members cannot publish.
Not everything can be posted automatically
Some destinations have no public API for posting, so BlueKona generates the content and you paste it in yourself.
| Destination | How it publishes |
|---|---|
| YouTube Community posts | Copy only — no API exists |
| LinkedIn video | Copy only |
| LinkedIn articles and posts | Automated, to your personal profile |
| Instagram, Facebook, Threads, X, TikTok | Automated |
Platform rejections
Platforms enforce their own rules, and a rejection comes back from them:
- Media requirements — aspect ratios, durations and file sizes vary per platform and are enforced on their side.
- Rate limits — posting too much in a short period gets throttled. Wait and retry.
- Content rules — a platform may refuse content its automated checks dislike.
- Account restrictions — a restricted or unverified account may be blocked from posting via API even when it can post in the app.
Retrying an identical post that was rejected on content grounds will fail identically. Change the content.
Blog publishing
"WordPress publishing is not fully configured" or "Keystatic publishing is not fully configured" The publishing target is missing required settings or credentials. Complete them in the blog module's Settings → Publishing tab, where a test-connection action confirms it works.
Articles publish to the wrong Shopify blog A workspace binds one blog per Shopify connection. Disconnect and reconnect, choosing the right one — see Connecting Shopify.
Applying edits to YouTube
Content Studio can push approved title and description changes back to YouTube.
"Metadata was applied to YouTube but the audit log could not be written" The change reached YouTube successfully; only BlueKona's record of it failed. Your video is updated, but the change may not be revertable from here.
"Metadata was reverted on YouTube but the audit log could not be updated" The same in reverse — the revert worked on YouTube.
"Post not found or update failed" The post no longer exists, or YouTube rejected the update. Re-sync your posts and try again.
Something published twice
Retrying after an ambiguous failure can publish twice if the first attempt actually succeeded. Check the destination before retrying a post whose outcome you are unsure of.
