A cross-platform audit looks at all your connected social accounts together and compares them: which channel is carrying your audience, which is underperforming for the effort, and whether your content mix makes sense across them.
What you need
At least two connected social accounts. With fewer, the Cross Platform card in the wizard stays disabled and the wizard shows:
Connect at least two accounts to run cross-platform audits.
The more channels you connect, the more useful the comparison. Two gives you a contrast; four gives you a portfolio view.
Running one
Go to Growth → Social Audit → Cross Platform, or pick the Cross Platform card in the wizard. The confirmation screen lists every account that will be included.
The same rules apply: a 14-day window, and one cross-platform audit per 14 days. This limit is separate from your per-platform limits, so running a cross-platform audit does not stop you auditing Instagram individually.
What the report adds
Cross-platform reports open with a Cross-platform overview that single-platform reports do not have:
- A tile per platform showing followers, average engagement and posts in period.
- The strongest channel marked Best.
- Totals across all channels: total audience, average engagement, posts in period.
Below that, the standard summary, issues, suggestions and action plan — but framed around how your channels relate to each other rather than how one performs in isolation.
What it is good at
- Spotting effort/return mismatches — the channel you post to most is often not the one returning the most engagement.
- Finding audience handoff problems — whether your channels feed each other or run as disconnected silos.
- Content mix — whether you are repeating the same format everywhere instead of using what each platform rewards.
Limitations worth knowing
Engagement rates are not directly comparable between platforms. A 2% rate on one network can be excellent and mediocre on another, because each defines and exposes engagement differently. The report accounts for this in its analysis, but treat raw side-by-side percentages with care.
Channels also differ in data availability — see the table in Single-platform audits. A channel that exposes less data will look thinner in the comparison than it really is.
