Connecting a platform gives BlueKona a token — a revocable key issued by the platform itself. You never share your password, and you can withdraw the key at any time from the platform's own settings.
Tokens do not last forever, which is why connections occasionally need renewing.
Why a connection breaks
- The token reached its lifetime. Normal and expected.
- You changed your password on that platform.
- You revoked access from the platform's security settings.
- Permissions changed — for example losing admin on a Facebook Page.
- The account changed type — an Instagram account switched back to personal.
Fixing it
Reconnecting is the same as connecting: Settings → Connections, press Connect, approve again.
Your past audits and content are unaffected. Nothing downstream needs reconfiguring.
What each error means
"This platform is not configured yet. Check back soon." The integration is not enabled on this deployment. Nothing you can fix.
"You need owner or admin access to connect platforms." Your workspace role does not allow it.
"Connection cancelled." You backed out on the platform's approval screen.
"Security check failed. Please try again." A safety check on the return trip did not match, usually because the flow sat open too long. Start again.
"Could not complete the connection. Please try again." The platform did not return a usable token. Usually transient.
"Connection was authorised but could not be saved. Please try again." Approval succeeded but the result did not persist. Retry; if it repeats, see Getting help.
"Your session expired. Please reconnect." The stored token is no longer valid.
"No accounts found for this platform." The authorising account has nothing BlueKona can bind.
"No active workspace found. Try switching workspaces." Your session lost track of the active workspace. Pick one from the switcher and retry.
Platform-specific
"No Instagram Business account found linked to your Facebook Page." The account is personal, not linked to a Page, or the Page was not ticked during Facebook's approval step. See Connecting Instagram.
"No YouTube channel found on this Google account." Wrong Google account — use the one that owns the channel.
"No Search Console or Analytics properties found on this Google account." That account has no properties or no access to them.
"Enter a valid .myshopify.com store domain." Use the permanent .myshopify.com domain, not a custom one.
"No blogs found on this Shopify store. Create one in Shopify admin first." Create a blog in Shopify, then reconnect.
Preventing breakage
- Connect with an account that will keep its access — a shared or role account rather than someone who may leave.
- Keep Instagram accounts as Business or Creator.
- After changing a platform password, reconnect proactively.
- Turn on auto-run audits — a broken connection surfaces sooner.
