Audits fail to happen for a small number of reasons, and the message usually says which.
It was refused before starting
"We can't run a reliable audit because this account has no posts in the last 14 days." BlueKona checks for activity before starting, because a report on an empty window is worthless. Publish something and run again.
"You can only run one audit per 14-day period. Please wait before running again." Each platform can be audited once per 14 days. The platform page shows the unlock date. The limit is per platform, so you can still audit a different one today.
"Connect at least two social accounts before running a cross-platform audit" Cross-platform compares channels, so it needs two or more.
"Forbidden" Only owners and admins can start audits.
"Audit did not start. Check your connection and try again." A network problem on your side. Nothing was consumed.
Site audits specifically
"Connect your website (Search Console + Analytics) in Website Settings first." No Google connection.
"Select a Search Console property and a GA4 property in Website Settings first." Connected, but a property is unselected. Both are required.
"No Search Console or Analytics data is available for the last 14 days." The site recorded no traffic in the window.
It started but failed
An audit that fails shows a red error and its History row turns to Failed.
The usual cause is a connection that stopped working mid-run — see Connection errors and token expiry. Reconnect the platform and run again.
The stream disconnected
"Connection lost. Refresh to retry." means the live view dropped, not that the audit died. Refresh to reattach — the audit continues on the server either way, and will appear in History when it finishes.
The scheduled audit never happened
If Auto-run every 14 days is on but no audit appeared, check in this order:
- Is the toggle still on? It is per platform, so enabling it for Instagram does nothing for YouTube.
- Is the connection healthy? A broken token stops scheduled runs.
- Has the account posted? The no-activity check applies to scheduled runs too.
- Are you in the right workspace? Schedules belong to a workspace.
The report looks wrong
Recent posts are missing — platform reporting lags: up to 48 hours on YouTube, two to three days on Search Console.
The numbers look stale — use Clear cache on the report, then re-run, to discard stored analytics and fetch fresh.
A section is empty — often a genuine result. See Reading your results.
