BlueKona analyses your actual performance data, so nothing works until at least one account is connected. This walks through the first one.
Which platform to start with
Any of them. If you are not sure, start with whichever channel you post to most — that is where an audit will have the most to say.
Connect it
Open Connections
Go to Settings → Connections in the sidebar. You will see a card for every platform BlueKona supports, each showing Connected or Not connected.
Press Connect
Press Connect on the platform you want. You are sent to that platform's own sign-in page.
Approve access
Sign in if you need to, review the permissions, and approve. BlueKona receives a revocable access token — it never sees your password.
Choose the account
Some platforms manage several accounts behind one login. If yours does, you will be asked which one to bind:
- Facebook — pick a Page
- Instagram — pick the Business account
- YouTube — pick a channel
- Google — pick a Search Console property and a GA4 property
- Shopify — enter your store domain first, then pick a blog
The other platforms connect directly with no picker.
Confirm it worked
You are returned to Connections with a confirmation such as "YouTube channel connected." The card now shows a green Connected pill and the account name.
What each connection unlocks
| Platform | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| YouTube | Channel data, video analytics, Content Studio |
| Business account posts, engagement, reach | |
| Page posts, reactions, reach | |
| Threads | Posts and basic analytics |
| X | Post analytics and distribution |
| TikTok | Video metrics and posting |
| Article sharing (metrics entered manually) | |
| Site performance — powers Site Audit and blog reporting | |
| Shopify | Publishing destination for blog articles |
For per-platform detail, see the Connections section.
If something goes wrong
"This platform is not configured yet. Check back soon." That platform is not available on this deployment yet. It is not something you can fix from your side.
"Connection cancelled." You backed out on the platform's approval screen. Press Connect again.
"No Instagram Business account found linked to your Facebook Page." Instagram connects through Facebook and requires a Business or Creator account linked to a Page. Convert the account and link it in Facebook first.
"No YouTube channel found on this Google account." The Google account you chose has no channel. Sign in with the one that owns the channel.
"Security check failed. Please try again." A safety check on the return trip did not match, usually because the flow was left open too long. Start the connection again.
Next
With one account connected you can run your first audit.
