An audit takes a fixed window of your recent activity, analyses it against how the platform actually behaves, and returns a graded report with prioritised fixes.
The three kinds of audit
| Type | What it looks at |
|---|---|
| Single platform | One connected account in depth — posts, engagement, cadence, formats |
| Cross platform | Your connected channels compared against each other |
| Site | Your website, via Google Search Console and Analytics |
Each is covered in its own guide: single platform, cross platform, and site.
The audit window
Every audit covers a 14-day window ending today.
YouTube additionally offers a deep audit covering the last 365 days — see Deep audits. Every other platform is 14 days only.
A fixed window is what makes audits comparable. Because every report covers the same span, you can put two of them side by side and the difference is a real change in performance rather than an artefact of one covering more days than the other.
How often you can run one
Once every 14 days, per platform, per workspace.
Because the limit is per platform, you can audit Instagram today and YouTube tomorrow. But you cannot audit Instagram twice in the same fortnight.
While you are inside the waiting period, the New Audit button is disabled and a banner tells you the exact date your next audit unlocks.
Who can run audits
Starting an audit requires owner or admin access to the workspace. Members can read every audit and export it, but cannot start one. See Roles and permissions.
Prerequisites
- A connected account for whatever you are auditing.
- Recent activity. BlueKona checks before it starts — an account with no posts in the last 14 days is refused, because there is nothing to analyse.
Automating it
Every platform's audit page has an Auto-run every 14 days toggle. Turn it on and the next audit starts by itself as soon as the window closes, giving you a continuous record without having to remember.
Where audits live
Each platform has its own page under Growth → Social Audit in the sidebar, holding that platform's report and its History of past runs. Your most recent completed audit also surfaces on the dashboard home.
