Connect your Threads account to bluekona.ai to analyze your post performance, understand audience engagement, and optimize your content strategy on Meta's newest platform.

Prerequisites

Account Requirements

• Active Threads account (linked to Instagram)
• Instagram account (Personal, Business, or Creator)
• Published threads for analysis

Important Notes

• Threads is inherently linked to Instagram
• Your Threads username matches your Instagram username
• Account must be active and in good standing

Connection Process

Step 1: Initiate Connection

From your bluekona.ai dashboard:

1. Navigate to Settings > Social Connections or
2. Click Connect Platform
3. Select Threads
4. Click Connect Threads

Step 2: Meta OAuth Authorization

Since Threads is owned by Meta (Facebook), you'll use Meta's OAuth system:

1. Redirect to Meta

   • You're taken to Meta's authorization page
   • Log in if not already authenticated

2. Select Account

   • Choose the Instagram/Threads account to connect
   • Verify it's the correct profile

3. Review Permissions

   • Meta shows requested permissions
   • All are read-only access

4. Authorize

   • Click Allow or Continue
   • Grant bluekona.ai permission to read your Threads data

Step 3: Permissions Requested

bluekona.ai requests these read-only permissions:

• threads_content_publish (read-only scope) - View published threads
• threads_manage_insights - Read analytics and metrics
• threads_manage_replies - View replies and interactions

What these permissions allow:

Step 4: Complete Connection

After authorization:

1. Redirected back to bluekona.ai
2. Success message appears
3. Threads account shows in connected platforms
4. Initial data sync begins (2-5 minutes)

Understanding the Dashboard

After connecting, your Threads account appears in Social Connections:

Status Display

• Connected (Green) - Active and syncing
• Token Expiring Soon (Yellow) - Reconnection needed within 14 days
• Token Expired (Orange) - Requires reconnection
• Error (Red) - Connection issue

Token Management

Threads access tokens expire after 60 days (Meta's standard).

Token Expiration Workflow

1. Day 1-45: Token active, no action needed
2. Day 46-55: Status shows "Expiring Soon"
3. Day 56-60: Notification sent to reconnect
4. After Day 60: Token expires, shows "Expired" status

Reconnecting

When your token expires or is expiring:

1. Click Reconnect button
2. Re-authorize through Meta OAuth
3. Token refreshed for another 60 days
4. All historical data preserved
